Knowing vs Understanding

I think it’s safe to say that many of us are known by those around us but are we truly understood by them? We all desire to be understood by someone. We want someone to understand that if we have a grumpy day we aren’t just being a jerk for the fun of it, but maybe something is weighing on your or maybe you are worried about something. I’m not saying that our problems justify our grumpiness or rudeness; rather I’m saying that it’s understandable and the people who understand you would truly get that.

Now, we won’t be understood all of the time because each of us are different, so we are wired differently. Being misunderstood is disappointing but it shouldn’t drive us to shut down or to get angry. We must be mature enough to not depend on being understood by people to fulfill us.

Who Understands Us When No One Else Does::

When no one else gets it; God does!

Check this out: “For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin.” -Hebrews 4:15

Sympathize according to Merriam-Webster Dictionary means: to feel sorry for someone who is in a bad situation : to feel sympathy for someone because you understand that person’s problems.

Werd?! … … … Our Triune God understands!  🙂

I guess that can sum up this post. We are known by many but may be understood by few and that’s okay. It’s okay because God understands and He is reliable, always present, comforting, a great listener AND He can actually fix any problem that you face.

Well, what if you don’t have a problem but you just aren’t understood in your preferences or feelings???…….

That’s okay too! because God understands! He created you unique and He loves you just as you are. So don’t trip. Don’t worry. Embrace your unique beauty or personality and LIVE YOUR LIFE! Or as Hip Hop Culture would say: “DO YOU!” LoL.
